Terms of Service
Aurea is an iPhone app made by an independent developer, Santiago Gómez. By using it you agree to these terms.
What it does
Aurea works out when golden hour, blue hour and true night fall at the places you choose, and pairs that with a weather forecast, so you can plan when the light will be good.
Use it at your own judgement
Sun and moon times are calculated from standard formulas and are usually within a minute or two, but they are approximations. Weather is a forecast. Terrain, buildings and conditions on the ground change what you actually see.
Don't rely on the app for anything where being wrong could hurt you or someone else: navigation, sailing, flying, hiking after dark, or anything safety-related. Use official sources for those. The app is provided as is, with no warranty, and I'm not liable for any loss that comes from using it: missed shots, wasted trips, or times that turned out to be wrong.
Aurea Pro
The app is free to download and use. Free gives you every light for every day, the weather-scored windows for today and the next two days, and three saved places. Aurea Pro adds the scored windows for the whole week, as many places as you like, and the home and lock screen widgets.
Pro is sold through the App Store as a one-time purchase: you pay once and keep it, with nothing that renews. The price is shown in the app in your local currency before you buy, and payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm. Refunds are handled by Apple under the App Store's terms, not by me.
Pro was earlier also sold as a yearly or monthly subscription. Those are no longer offered, but a subscription bought then keeps Pro on until it ends; it renews until you cancel it in your iPhone's Settings under your Apple Account, Subscriptions, and cancelling takes effect at the end of the current period. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
Pro is tied to your Apple Account: it comes with you to a new phone or a reinstall through Restore Purchases in Settings, and works on any device signed in to that account. If you sign in with a different account, that account's purchases apply.
What falls on either side of the line may change in a future version. What you've already paid for won't be taken away from you.
Third-party data
Weather comes from Apple Weather (attribution) and place search from Apple Maps. If either service changes or goes away, parts of the app may stop working.
Your data
What the app does with your location and saved places is in the Privacy Policy. Short version: it stays on your phone.
Apple
The app is distributed through the App Store under Apple's standard terms, and purchases are made under Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement. Apple isn't a party to this agreement and isn't responsible for the app or for supporting it.
Changes
The app and these terms may change over time. The current version always lives at aurea.photos/terms. You can stop using the app at any time by deleting it.
